New Software Installation Installation Walkthrough
When you decide to build your own Strategic Plans, it is totally essential that you have the latest service packs installed.
This is especially if you have an older computer without Windows Update and/or without Access 2003/2007.

Microsoft Service Packs and the .Net Framework (Vista edition)
- How to download
- Single-Click on the Download link.
- If using Expolrer -> click [Run]
- If using Firefox -> click [Save] and then Open (after installed ok, click Remove)
- 1. Totally Essential - Check for free Microsoft Windows Service Packs
- Right click on My Computer and choose Properties, this will show the Windows Operating System and Service Pack.
- For Windows XP, Service Pack 2 is absolutely essential.
- WinXP-SP2 is free but there is a CD media-only cost.
- You can borrow or copy it either from a friend or a repair shop.
- For Windows 2000, Service Pack 4 is required. Download
- For Windows 2003, Service Pack 1 is required. Download
- 2. Check for free Microsoft Data Access Library Sevice Pack
- 3. Check for free Microsoft Jet Database Engine Service Pack
- 4. Install free Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (normally provided free with Vista)
- 5. Install our free Strategy Map Balanced Scorecard Software
- You can Download the latest version here
- The software should install automatically without problems
- Do NOT change the default Installation Folder.
- It must be installed into the default location on C: Drive
- This default Installation Folder will be the equivalent of "Program Files" but in your own language.
- View English Language Install Screen - Vista
- View English Language Install Folder - Vista
- - If you need to upgrade to the Professional license later, we just email you a license file.
- - The software detects the license file and switches into Pro or SQL modes.
- If you did not install the .Net Framework above, this will be installed automatically, but the install will appear to take much longer.
- 6. Install your License and Owner-Logo files (Professional or SQL Licenses).
- Just save or copy these files to the folder where your software is installed
- In english this would be C:\Program Files\AppliedPC\StrategyMapScorecard\
- To run the software in multi-user mode consult the install document by viewing the link attached to your purchase email.
- 7. Upgrading your Version 3 Software to the latest release build
- Just download and re-install the latest build of the software install file.
- Your database file should be preserved.
- We highly recommend that you backup or copy your database file before upgrading, just in case.
- 8. If you want to work with files, you have to enable Explorer filename extensions
