Version 3 Progress

We have almost totally finished Version 3 and will be starting on Version 4 late May 2008.

  • Expand the current single program into a multi-module system:
    • A startup module allows you to login and select a Strategic Plan. You can then click on the modules that you want to use and it will be possible to have all modules opened and working at the same time.
    • The Version 2 system has grown beyond its size and Screen Real-Estate has become a priority which causes difficulty in viewing the program structure.
     
  • Expand the Current Database:
    • With the version 2 system we were not able to change the database structure. So we had to combine data into existing fields.
    • Expanding the database will allow the program to work better and also allow us to include facilities that current users have asked for.
     
  • Provide features that current users have asked for:
    • Financial Planning Capability with Graphs.
    • More cell text in the Balanced Scorecard & ability to set the column number.
    • More columns and more free text columns in the Balanced Scorecard.
    • External Doc/Webpage Links in the Vision/Mission/Val/Pol & also in Balanced Scorecard Grid.
    • Easier to work on the Vision/Mission/Values/Policies/Procedures sections and the ability to work on these in a seperate window when designing the Strategy Map.
    • Ability to make the Balanced Scorecard grid wider.
    • Ability to have graphs in the Drill-Down module (now called Drill-Down Dashboards).
    • Security to prevent unauthorised access to confidential data.
    • Security to prevent unauthorised people from running different program modules.
    • Security to allow users to view only their own data or managers to view their subordinate data.
    • More space in the Policy/Values/Procedures area with links to external documents or web-pages.
